Current Customers Military Services Group Fort Rucker Army Base Dale County, Alabama American Water has been providing water and wastewater services to the Fort Rucker Army Base since September 2003. Responsibilities include operation, maintenance, repair and upgrades to the facilities on the main Army post, the Cairns Army Field, the Shell Army Heliport and the surrounding stagefields.The system consists of over 370,000 feet of piping, two 500,000 gallon ground storage tanks, and two 500,000 gallon elevated storage tanks. The system treats and delivers 1.5 million gallons of water per day and processes 1.8 million gallons of wastewater per day. Fort Rucker is home to the United States Army Aviation Museum. Fort Leavenworth Army Base Leavenworth, Kansas In November 2003, American Water was awarded a 50-year contract to operate and maintain the water and wastewater treatment facilities and distribution systems at Fort Leavenworth.The system serves a population of approximately 3,000 active duty personnel, 4,500 active duty family members and 2,300 civilian employees. The water treatment system includes over 310,000 feet of pipe, five wells, four storage towers, a booster pumping station and numerous fire hydrants and valves. Each day, the system treats and delivers about 1.5 million gallons of water and treats about a half a million gallons of wastewater. Fort Leavenworth is the oldest active U.S. Army post west of the Mississippi River. Fort Sill Army Base Lawton, Oklahoma Since July 2003, American Water's Military Services Group has been providing water and wastewater services to the 51,500 soldiers at Fort Sill. The water system includes 550,000 feet of pipe, four pump stations, six storage towers, a booster pumping station and numerous fire hydrants. The system at Fort Sill treats and delivers approximately 2 million gallons of water each day, and processes and treats approximately 4 million gallons per day. Fort Sill is designated as a national historic landmark and serves as home to the U.S. Army Field Artillery Training Center. Fort Bragg Army Base Harnett County, North Carolina In October 2006, American Water was awarded a contract to operate, maintain and repair Fort Bragg's aging water and and wastewater treatment plants. Within the first six months of the contract, we found and corrected over 130 health and safety issues. We also provide technical assistance to identify and justify system improvements. Each day, approximately 5 million gallons of water are treated and delivered and 5.4 million gallons of wastewater are treated. Fort Bragg is known as the Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces and is home to a population of over 28,000. |
